5 Notable Spanish Rappers

Someone threw this important ¡culture nugget! in the trash. Transcribed in the breathless tone I imagine accompanied the original:

“Read Carefully. Spanish RAPpers. ONE! Joell ORtiz (VERY GOOD! but isn’t he half black!!!) TWO! J.R. Writer (DESTROYED in a battle by Smoke D2A! THREE… BAMZ! (OMG He is SO good!) FOUR! Bodega BAMZ! (He is THE BEST!). FIVE! Pat Mason (SikeIjustneededanotherSpanishRapper HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”

Edited for extra Sike!

I think it says “Sike”, as in “You want some of my ice cream … sike!”

;)

Sike! But seriously, Pat Mason is great, or he would be if I’d ever heard of him.

Ah, that makes more sense — I’d never spell it “sike” so it just didn’t occur to me!

How do you spell it then? I like to spell it “SYKE!”, but I also know some people who try to be cute and spell it “PSYCH!” which is… well, kind og wrong as it can get.

And poor Juell Ortiz, unknowingly cast in the role of tragic Latino Mullatto. Don’t worry Juell, your diversity is only an asset.

I know last time you did this you discovered you hate blogging… but I’m awfully glad you’re back. No sike!

I don’t get why it’s “cute” to spell it “psych” when that’s the root meaning of the “word”.

Yeah, I would spell it “psych”, too.

I might spell it “sike” after a nite of drinking lite beer I purchased from the Kwik Stop.

¡Azucar!

I love how much cleaner it looks after she edits with the blue pen. However, I’m still left with questions. Who exactly is supposed to read this list carefully? Why is the first “Spanish” written with a special circle above the I, when all the other Is (including the second “Spanish”) are dotted normally? Is that supposed to be Pat Mason’s height?

My favorite part is that “HAHAHAHAHAHAH” was written so explicitly, and then highlighted in its own box. It’s as though it was a key point of review, upon reading the list over again.

“Hmm… not half-black, good… OMG, so good, yes… the best, indeed… HAHAHAHAHAH, excellent. It appears I have it all.”
