I met this veteran photographer at the Brooklyn Book Festival today. He was shooting with this Graflex Speed Graphic camera tricked out with flash bulbs, speed lights and double exposure lenses. Really nice guy. He bought this camera in 1959 and has been using it since then. Amazing!

    That’s Louis Mendes, a fixture in NYC.

    Similar 4×5 Speed Graphics are available on eBay for around $300 – 500 in excellent condition.
