From the Poughkeepsie Journal:
A City of Poughkeepsie man was arrested Thursday after leading police on a high-speed chase through the city, which came to an end on the lawns of two Washington Street homes.
Officer Garth Mason was on Market Street at 6:37 p.m. when he saw a car, operated by Landocalrissan Butler, 27, of Winnikee Avenue, speeding and moving into the officer’s lane, almost striking his car, said Deputy Chief Tom Ghee.
Ah Landocalrissan Butler, will you ever learn? Also Mr. Butler please note Calrissan should be Calrissian with an ‘i’. That ends the Star Wars geek lesson.

There is so much sadness here. I am guessing that the botched nomenclature results from a typo on the part of someone somewhere rather than ignorance on the part of Mr. Butler. The level of sadness would be determined by whether the typo was committed in the reporting of this story or by the legal sorts involved in the changing of Butler’s name.
What is not open to sadness-adjustment is the fact that, even though I am staunchly not a Star Wars geek, I registered the missing ‘i’ immediately as I read this post. Sad.
You truly belong down here with us on the lawn.
The much sadder explanation would be that his parents named him that. And spelled it wrong.
27 years old minus the year “Empire” came out?
It’s definitely a possibility. A sad, sad possibility.
I think it’s important that they chose to call him “Landocalrissian”, rather than simply, “Lando.”
It shows that they didn’t want him confused with any other Landos out there, real or imagined.
Why is this sad? I think this is a cause for celebration because at least now I know that I have a better life than someone else out there. I mean, that’s really unfair that they named him Lando[calriss[i]an], even if he did end up redeeming himself. Those people saw their own son as a plot device, rather than say, the protagonist, of his own life story. That’s rough. I, meanwhile, was named after Christ himself, so I feel really good now.
