This is very creepy and totally awesome. There’s a series of security cameras out there that have web servers built in so that you can see your camera’s feed from anywhere you want. Trouble is a lot of people aren’t reading the instruction book and are leaving these servers wide open. So if you know the URL to the camera you can get the feed. You know who knows the feed? Google. They know everything. They know what that guy you work with in the clown mask does with that sock of his. They know.
Someone realized the images created by the camera have a distinct URL pattern and used Google to sniff them out. Then they made a screensaver out of it using magic. Now you can see feeds (as they update live) of office farms, pools, construction sites and God knows what else. Right now it is Mac only but there’s a Windows version coming soon.
Awesome.
