Tara is on vacation with her sister and parents to a horrible place I would not go. So I’m all alone. Here’s what I did on day one:
- slept in until noon
- decided to restart blog
- installed Movable Type 4 and skimmed selection of horrible themes
- removed Movable Type 4 and installed WordPress 2.3
- Went out and got a grande non-fat, no-water chai from Starbucks, a whole size larger than usual
- Customized WordPress
- Microwaved Chinese food leftovers and by leftovers I mean plain steamed broccoli and plain steamed rice with soy sauce on it — I live large
- Reviewed upcoming Glarkware changes for 10 minutes
- Watched season 2 of Rome
- Played Team Fortress 2
So was day one.

Ha! I knew you’d be back on the blog someday!
“Went out and got a grande non-fat, no-water chai form Starbucks, a whole size larger than usual”
Right on! No-water is the way to go. If I may make a small recommendation, I suggest you try soymilk instead of milk next time. It makes for a sweeter drink, in a good way.
I’ve been a vegetarian for over 10 years now (holy crap) but I just can’t get behind soy milk. It tastes like watery rice pudding strained through a soccer player’s sock. Their chai syrup used to be a lot less sweet and more spicy — I wish it was less sweet to be honest. Unfortunately almost everyone else who makes a chai that they will also put in a cup to go uses the Oregon Chai stuff which is awful.
My question is: how different is this from what you would have done if Tara were home?
Not much but instead of Rome Tara would have a marathon of ANTM or Degrassi on.
“I wish it was less sweet to be honest.”
You, sir, are dead to me.
Ha! I read the first sentence and really wanted to know where the horible place was, even though I was pretty sure I knew. I checked your wife’s blog and was proven correct. We’re going in February. My husband is just as much of a hater, but we have a six year old daughter so there’s no way the miserable bastard’s getting out of it. Enjoy your time alone!
